City Transformation

Church Relations and Pastors

Develop a list of all Mega-churches in a 50 mile radius of the event location:
  • A data base of all their contact information, name, address, pastor, denomination, phone numbers, web-site, email addresses, pro/con PK.
  • Procure a list of churches from a 100 mile radius of the event location.
  • Identify para-church organizations, Christian colleges, universities, inner-city youth and young adult programs, and television and radio stations (Christian and secular).
  • Request contacts from PK supporters/volunteers, their pastor’s name, church, phone numbers, email addresses, etc., and ask their help to draw them to the table.

Contact Pastors and ministry leaders:
  • Call to determine interest, share a thumb-nail sketch of the vision, and mail or email them written information of the vision.
  • For pastors who express interest, ask them to refer other pastors and leaders, and ask help in identifying the influential leaders of the city/region.
  • Set up a time for a conference call with all pastors and leaders who express interest in supporting City Transformation. Ask them to provide a list of leaders who will be able to come along side of the PK volunteer base to create interest in the area.
  • Request information about any city-wide or denominational activities that are scheduled in the city for this year, and identify any potential scheduling conflicts.

First City Transformation Visit to the city:
  • Set up a meeting with as many of the influential leaders as possible to cast the vision (accompanied with printed materials of City transformation). The target will be to:
  1. If possible, have Coach on this visit to share the vision in the first pastor’s meeting, (significant meetings with critical pastors may follow).
  2. Run any videos
  3. Have a follow up Q&A to make sure we’ve addressed all their concerns. Make sure they understand the follow up activity prior and following the conference.
  4. Get a pulse of the body of Christ, city-wide, and if they are functioning together on any projects/events, and ask about marketing suggestions (media).
  5. Ask for their partnership, and spell out exactly what we will need from them, what we will do, and how it will impact their churches and city.
  6. Identify any hurdles that may need to be addressed.
  • Have subsequent meetings set up with other key leaders from the city, to include para-church ministries, men’s, women’s and youth ministries (city or regional), prayer ministries, college ministries, and media organizations.
  • Set up the next series of contacts needed to broaden the support base for City Transformation. Find out who is missing, and how to best bring them to the table. Request a data-base of churches and ministries.

Second visit to the city:
  • Have a meeting with all who have expressed a desire to be partners with us, and lay out a strategy for generating support for both the conference and the City Transformation process.
  1. Select a steering committee of pastors and leaders to oversee City Transformation, and also identify hands-on leadership.
  2. Request a data base of all denominations, churches and ministries to be developed for promotional purposes.
  3. Connect the PK volunteer force, Ambassadors, prayer warriors, donors, volunteers, with the leadership team, to identify the team that will be the structure for communicating the vision and event information.

  • Man Church: a monthly event just for men: developed with masculine worship, terminology, subject matter and music, with a focus on challenging men to be men of God with actions to follow.
  • Wake Up Calls
