Why Free Conferences?

Dear Friends:

I have exciting news to share with you!

In view of the current economic strain, our Board has given me a bold directive to conduct our national events this year free of charge!

Now as never before, Promise Keepers needs to reach across the nation with the hope, encouragement and transforming power of the Word of God.

Imagine the possibilities!

Men learning how to fulfill their roles in the spiritual battle for their families at our PK Classic event without concern for impacting the family’s budget

Area youth organizations, halfway houses and inner city ministries bringing all their participants to be challenged by the Word of God in a powerful event setting

Families strengthened by God’s Word. My heart aches as I have just read in USA Today that 40% of pregnancies in the African American community end in abortion. Families, especially in this vulnerable community, must attend.

Native Americans and other hard-hit ethnic communities fully participating, representing the Church in action

We have begun an all-out blitz to raise the funds needed for this bold step. Here’s our formula:

First, National retailer Hobby Lobby has come on board to help. The family that owns Hobby Lobby was so impacted by the message that they have committed $100,000 in matching funds for each of the five conferences planned for this year.

Second, Coach McCartney and our Board of Directors have committed their individual efforts to help raise funds in advance within their spheres of influence.

Third, we are challenging each city to raise funds to support their event. We are contacting area Christian business leaders, church leaders and gate keepers to join us.

Fourth, we have cut our conference expenses exactly in half, streamlining our operations while continuing to produce a top quality event.
You know, over the years, tens of thousands have been changed at Promise Keepers events. This year, no one needs to miss the compelling messages, dynamic worship and Christian fellowship of a PK conference.
One of the pastors who attended the Hampton event in April has shared the following:

We were sitting on the second row during the invitation, and a pastor sitting directly behind me, who had brought ten of his men with him, leaned forward and began an incredible conversation…He had been to PK events before and was expecting the same old “rah rah pump ‘em up” kind of thing that he had experienced years ago. He was not aware of the additions to the PK platform. He was saying things like “This is so much better than what I had expected…” “God is so in this…” “I know this stuff, but I haven’t been able to put it all together…” We exchanged contact information. This pastor phoned yesterday and wants to be discipled (his word) in learning about the “One New Man”…

We’re setting the table for God to ignite the fires of individual transformation, strengthened families, revitalized churches and transformed cities.

We are calling out spiritual warriors who will hear and obey the Word of God. It is vital in America today that as many as possible hear and respond to that call.
