    Facilities Captain

Purpose: To recruit, manage, and direct the Facilities Team regarding the setup and teardown, headquarters operations, and PK staff transportation (if needed) requirements for the conference. Provide tangible servant leadership during the conference to troubleshoot, encourage, support, and direct Facilities Team. Ensure every church within your sphere of influence actively partners in sending men to the conference.

Reports to: Conference Services Group I Leader

Works closely with: PK Conference Services Manager, Conference Volunteer Coordinator, other Conference Services Groups I & II Captains, venue personnel, transportation volunteers (if needed)

Pre-Conference Responsibilities:

  • Recruit: Facilities Setup and Tear Down, Headquarters Assistant, Radio Administrator, PK Staff Shuttle Driver/Greeter positions (if needed-check with your Group Leader)
  • Help to ensure the conference is “SOLD OUT”
  • Assist the Conference Services Group I Leader to ensure recruitment of all volunteer positions with adequate diversity. Attend scheduled conference leadership planning/prayer meetings to ensure:
    • Volunteer Conference Job Descriptions are handed out
    • Understanding of Conference Team Roster/Overview
    • All volunteer paperwork is completed
    • Volunteer positions are filled in accordance with Volunteer Position & Shift Schedule
    • Understand recruiting methods, resources, and strategies
  • Become familiar with job descriptions and schedule for Facilities Team positions
  • Motivate, instruct, and supervise Facilities Team
  • Participate in a site visit to acquire complete working knowledge of the venue

Conference Responsibilities:

  • Affix room assignment signs –in accordance with venue rules– to ancillary rooms assigned to Promise Keepers
  • Ensure every assigned PK ancillary room has all the necessary chairs and tables in accordance with room assignment list. Check with the Conference Services Group I Leader to see if the church is providing the necessary chairs and tables or if handled some other way
  • Provide trash bags to the Usher/Greeter Captain. Note: Trash bags may come from Promise Keepers or Venue. Check with Conference Services Group I Leader to confirm the necessity and timing. If so, assist the Usher/Greeter Team in this responsibility If so, assist the Usher Team in this responsibility
  • Together with the Conference Services Group I Leader, check on the Headquarters Assistant, Radio Administrator, and PK Staff Shuttle Driver/Greeters to ensure an understanding of job responsibilities

Post-Conference Responsibilities:

  • Follow the direction of the PK Conference Services Manager and together with the Facilities Team assist with the post-conference tear down and load out of all Promise Keepers crates, equipment, and supplies
