    Food Captain

Purpose: To coordinate the service and distribution of meals/beverages with the PK Hotel/Food Manager for the PK Staff and Volunteers as well as coordinate the distribution of the Saturday Box Lunch for all attendees. Ensure every church within your sphere of influence actively partner in sending men to the conference.

Reports to: Conference Services Group I Leader

Works closely with: Facilities Captain, Volunteer Check-In Captain, Food Team, ASL Captain, Special Needs Captain, Spanish Interpretation Captain

Pre-Conference Responsibilities:

  • Recruit the Food Team
  • Help to ensure the conference is “SOLD OUT”
  • Attend scheduled conference leadership planning/prayer meetings to ensure:
    • Volunteer Conference Job Descriptions are handed out
    • Understanding of Conference Team Roster/Overview
    • All volunteer paperwork is completed
    • Volunteer positions are filled in accordance with Volunteer Position & Shift Schedule
    • Understand recruiting methods, resources, and strategies
  • Become familiar with job descriptions and schedules for the Food Team
  • Motivate, instruct and supervise Food teams. (Manage the people and delegate the work)
  • Participate in on-site visit to acquire working knowledge of the venue. Get detailed maps if/when available
  • Be familiar with room assignments so you can properly supervise food team
  • Discuss schedule with the PK Hotel/Food Manager

Conference Responsibilities:

  • Direct the Food team in:
    • Distribution of meals and beverages as identified on the room instruction sheet or directed by the PK Hotel/Food Manager, may require lots of lifting and walking
    • Responsibilities related to the Saturday Box Lunch distribution to attendees and cleanup
  • Supervise the cleaning and return of borrowed venue equipment to the venue and the return of any PK equipment, i.e. large coolers/ice chests, carts etc., to the proper place to be loaded for shipment, the PK Hotel /Food Manager will advise you on this
  • Ensure the ASL Interpreters and Spanish Interpreters have bottled water at all times
