Security Captain

Purpose: To provide security assistance to designated areas of the conference. Ensure every church within your sphere of influence actively partner in sending men to the conference.

Reports to: Conference Services Group I Leader

Works closely with: Venue Security, Facilities Captain, Usher/Greeter Captain, All Conference Volunteer Teams, PK Conference Services Manager, PK Conference Services Director

Special Qualifications/Preferred Profile:

  • Police or law enforcement \ Military or High Level Security Experience (active or retired)
  • Five (5) years minimum experience

Pre-Conference Responsibilities:

  • Recruit Security team volunteers for stage and door monitoring (Speaker Hospitality, etc.)
  • Help to ensure the conference is “SOLD OUT”
  • Attend scheduled conference leadership planning/prayer meetings to ensure:
    • Volunteer Conference Job Descriptions are handed out
    • Understanding of Conference Team Roster/Overview
    • All volunteer paperwork is completed
    • Volunteer positions are filled in accordance with Volunteer Position & Shift Schedule
    • Understand recruiting methods, resources, and strategies
  • Prepare a list of law enforcement telephone numbers and contact persons
  • Acquire or prepare a comprehensive map of the venue and its facilities (especially those specific to the conference), identify all areas of security need
  • Conduct training sessions:
    • Security and radio communications for all security sensitive areas (need experienced police officers, fire fighters, etc.)
    • Door Monitors posted at Speaker Hospitality room, main attendee door entrance, etc.
    • Posting door assignments at Speaker Hospitality room, main attendee door entrance, etc.
    • Posting stage assignments in front and back corners around the stage/platform
  • Obtain the PK Credential Access System policy from PK Conference Services Manager

Conference Responsibilities:

  • Instruct the Security team on the PK Credential Access policy
  • Post PK Credential Access laminated signs in designated access control areas
  • Manage volunteer security personnel at assigned stage and door locations
  • Assist with crowd control, access/credential control, and Special Guest security
  • Follow up and report to Conference Services Manager and appropriate authorities any suspicious communication or activity
  • Return radios and any equipment or materials to Headquarters Office/appropriate personnel
  • Debrief security personnel and present summary to PK Conference Services Manager
